Our Objective is to ensure we provide these products and services in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements specifically:
Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (& Amendments)
HSE ACoP L8 – Legionnaires’ disease – The control of legionella bacteria in water systems
HSG 274: Part 2 – Legionnaires’ disease – The control of legionella bacteria in hot and cold-water systems.
We specialise in delivering water hygiene solutions and offer an extensive range of services from clean and disinfections of water systems including Cold Water Storage Tanks and Disinfections and Acid Descales.
It is a requirement to keep your water systems clean and disinfected so we can tailor your hygiene service requirements into a long-term contract to help you save costs and ensure you are always compliant.
Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) are widely used to protect vulnerable people from scalding themselves by regulating the outlet temperatures. TMVs also assist with flow and pressure regulation in water systems.
However, if not monitored or maintained correctly, TMVs can become a source of legionella and bacterial growth. Kimera FM supply TMV installation, monitoring, full service and exchange programmes to ensure they are safe and compliance requirements are maintained.
An integral part of the ACoPL8/HSG274 Parts 1, 2 & 3 requirements is the need to undertake regular monitoring of hot and cold-water systems to ensure that they are operating within the guideline parameters. Our services at Kimera can include:
Temperature monitoring of all stored hot and cold water
Distribution temperature monitoring
Routine sampling carried out to determine the extent of bacteria within your systems.
All samples analysed at a UKAS accredited laboratory for independent analysis for the presence of E. coli, coliforms, TVCs, pseudomonas and legionella bacteria Should any temperatures or sample results be non-compliant we will support you throughout the process in order to return your site to safe and compliant levels.
Good working practices recommend routine sampling is carried out to determine the extent of bacteria within your water systems.
